Renovation of an educational facility in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

DSA #03-125548 Interior improvement to buildings 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 at Endeavour Elementary School. Includes sitework improvements for accessibility compliance. The scope of work includes selective building demolition, site demolition and earthwork, site utilities, AC paving, ornamental fencing, landscape and irrigation, concrete, structural steel, rough carpentry and general construction, interior architectural woodwork, metal wall panels, aluminum framed windows/glass and glazing, lath, plaster and drywall, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings and panels, painting, architectural specialties, markerboards, tackboards, toilet partitions and accessories, plumbing, HVAC and sheet metal, and electrical. Contractors must possess the applicable valid and active contractor's license for their scope of work. Instructions to bidders: Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the bidder's name, project identification, bid package number, date and time of bid opening in the upper left-hand corner, and addressed to Fruitvale School District. Bids may be delivered personally, by courier, or mailed via USPS. Plans and specifications are available at the designated plan room. This is a prevailing wage project. Payment and performance bonds are required. The owner will retain 5% of the amount of any progress payments. Submission of a bid constitutes representation of review and understanding of California Labor Code requirements. Electronic certified payroll records must be furnished as specified. No deposit is required for plans. Pre-qualification requirements: All general contractors and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors are required to be prequalified pursuant to AB 1565 and/or AB 1433. No contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid, be listed in a bid proposal, or perform work unless currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. Prequalification packages can be obtained from qualitybidders.com and must be completed and approved within the specified timeframe prior to bid opening. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with all provisions of the California Labor Code relevant to public works. 1. Work of this contract shall be done as shown on the Project Schedule included in the Bid Documents. Contractor shall include all mobilization and demobilization costs necessary to comply with the project schedule. 2. Each area of work must be manned continually as scheduled until this Bid Package portion of the work is complete so that work of other trades may proceed on schedule. 3. Provide all notifications, permits, submittals, equipment identification, materials, labor transportation, appliances, testing certification and security necessary for the execution of work in this bid package and as shown on the Drawings and Specifications. Prime contractor is responsible for securing all tools, equipment and stored materials until such materials are installed and accepted. 4. Provide notification at least 48 hours in advance of required observation for inspection. All inspection requests shall be scheduled through the Construction Manager superintendent. 5. Prime Contractor shall provide all closeout documents and requirements 30 days after being notified for such. If multiple requests are required, a Deductive Change Order will be issued to the contract amount of $100.00 per request. 6. Provide all equipment, materials, labor, and tools required to perform work of this Bid Package. 7. Provide temporary power (generators, cords, etc.) to perform work of this Bid Package. Power supply may be limited at site locations. Prime contractors will be required for their own source of power where 1.
