The County of Orange, OC Public Works, is seeking qualified firms to provide Environmental Monitoring and Biological Sampling Services within the Newport Bay watershed. The services required include ongoing biological tissue sampling and habitat assessments to evaluate contaminants in aquatic ecosystems, with a focus on selenium and organochlorine compounds. Activities will involve collecting fish and bird egg samples, conducting fish community and habitat surveys, supporting data analysis, and preparing regulatory reports to comply with applicable state and federal water quality regulations. Qualified environmental professionals are required to have the appropriate regulatory permits and technical expertise, use approved Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and adhere to relevant monitoring protocols including California SWAMP guidelines and CEDEN reporting. These are professional environmental monitoring and scientific support services, excluding architectural, engineering, or construction activities. Respondents must submit proposals electronically via the County’s online bidding system.
