Renovation of an educational facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 87,909-square-foot educational facility.

The Project consists of but not limited to: The City through its Department of Capital Assets and Construction is seeking bids from qualified firms to enter into an agreement for the full roof replacement of the High School of Commerce including upgrades to all related electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Question Deadline 02/26/2026 at 4:00 PM ET All bidding Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted online Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate required for the High School of Commerce Re-Roofing project. 1. General Information: The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to the following: a. Replacement of roofing, insulation and flashing including demolition of existing roofing materials down to roof decking and existing roofing renovation items such as brick repairs and parapet work. b. Temporary removal and reinstallation of existing rooftop MEP equipment to accommodate roof replacement (will require extension of equipment curbs and equipment utility lines). c. New wall, and ceiling framing/finishes as detailed for interior work. d. Removal of select existing doors & windows and replacement with new doors and windows. e. Removal of existing skylights and replacement with new skylights. f. Sitework repairs to match existing conditions at beginning of project if on-site storage areas and work access routes damage existing site. B. The Building will be occupied throughout construction. Diligent scheduling with the Architect and Owner will be required from the General Contractor and all subcontractors to ensure work remains on schedule, while keeping a safe learning environment for students, teachers, and staff. C. The work will require modifications in adjacent spaces which will impact Owner/occupant areas. In addition to protecting the building occupants from the construction activities and work areas, the Contractor will be responsible for securing the construction zones and containing / minimizing dust, noise and other conditions which will impact the building occupants. Off-hours work (second shift, weekends and / or school breaks) will be required to reduce disruption to the building services and activities. D. The work will include all operations necessary to deliver the space(s) to a fully installed and operable condition including all utility work and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and certificates. Where utilities exist within the building, and are known by the Owner, they have been shown on the building plan(s) appearing in, but not restricted to, the exhibits which will be provided to the Contractor. Connections to these existing utility lines will be the responsibility of the General Contractor Roofing Replacement at High School of Commerce. The full roof replacement including upgrades to all related electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1. Renovations including, but not limited to: a. Roof Replacement. b. Masonry demolition and patching. c. Roofing modifications at equipment / repairs to removed equipment. d. Metal framing. e. Window and Door replacements as shown in the documents. f. Skylight replacements g. Concrete work. h. Light gauge metal framing and gypsum board partitions. i. Carpentry, caulking. j. Interior finishes. k. Suspended acoustic tile ceiling modifications. Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Electrical. F. Reference to Drawings: The work to be done under this Contract is shown on the Drawings listed at the end of this Section. G. Work will include all demolition and new construction for the High School of Commerce Roofing Replacement project as required. The General Contractor will provide a schedule for completion of the project to the Owner within the required construction period.
