Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in North Liberty, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,626-square-foot, one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field; and 5,700-square-foot swimming pool.

The City of North Liberty is continuing the development of Centennial Park by constructing Phase 2 of the park master plan. The Phase 2 improvements include a 5,700 square foot splash pad at the center of the project site with a supporting restroom and mechanical building with a picnic shelter overhang, sidewalks, expanded parking, utility services, lighting, and landscaping. Site work involves grading, new PCC pavement for sidewalks and the splash pad, new permeable paver parking stalls, landscape plantings (trees, ornamental grasses, perennials) focused around the new building, splash pad, and parking lot islands; installation of new splash pad equipment and shade canopies, and site utility work for water and sanitary services and storm sewer installation. The architectural scope covers construction of a new 1,626-square-foot splash pad support facility, including a mechanical/electrical room, park event storage room, garage space for a park maintenance vehicle, four single-user restrooms, and a covered exterior pavilion. The facility has modular brick veneer with concrete masonry structure and aluminum-framed doors. Electrical work includes extending electrical service from an existing facility, supporting future developments, providing LED lighting with automatic controls, extending telecommunications for cameras and wireless devices, and a localized fire alarm system. Mechanical and plumbing work comprises domestic water systems, electric or heat pump water heaters, storm sewer for roof drainage, new sanitary waste and vent systems, separate potable and fire protection water services with required backflow preventers, HVAC freeze protection, and a powered exhaust system for chemical storage. An irrigation system worth $20,000 is included in the base bid. The building will not be sprinklered per its "U Occupancy" classification. Alternates include additional parking stalls and landscaping (trees, ornamental grasses, perennials), sodding, parking lot lighting, and associated electrical infrastructure. Landscaping west of the existing park road is also included as an alternate.
