Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
All labor and materials to replace the air handlers and install energy recovery ventilators at the Buchanan Center for Performing Arts. Only bids submitted electronically through the Public Purchase site and on University of Wyoming forms will be considered. Each base bid over $150,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder as Principal and a satisfactory surety company, executed in favor of the Owner in the amount of 5% of the maximum amount of the bid. Bid Bond shall be accompanied by a certified copy of Power of Attorney, and be signed or countersigned by an agent of the bonding company. No other form of Bid surety will be accepted. Summary Project Description: The project consists of replacing the air handling unit (AHU-3) in the UW Performing Arts building. The existing air handling unit is located within the third floor mechanical mezzanine and part of the project is to enlarge the mechanical room to accommodate the new air handling unit. The Scene Shop is one of the rooms served by this air handling unit. Currently the Scene Shop has an exhaust fan which provides exhaust during occupied hours. This exhaust fan will be replaced with an energy recovery ventilator (ERV). The new ERV will use the exhaust air to preheat part of the outside air being brought into the building through the new air handling unit. Scope also includes ductwork, heating water piping,heating water coil pump, and chilled water piping within the mechanical room and the adjacent Scene Shop area. Scope includes adding ethylene glycol to the existing heating water system as required for the piping and AHU coil. The contractor shall test the percentage of glycol before and after the project to show that the glycol levels were maintained in the system. New temperature controls will be provided by the University of Wyoming. The mechanical contractor will be responsible for installing the thermowells for temperature sensors, controls valves, etc. included in the controls scope of work. All work to be performed in accordance with the drawings, specifications, and the UW Construction Standards.As required, the abatement of asbestos-containing materials will be coordinated with the Owner.
