The project consists of the full demolition to grade of the 6 buildings on Science Hill, the adjacent vending area/café, and associated site improvements. Existing foundations and below-grade portions of the structures shall be removed and the areas backfilled to match the existing grade. Grading and drainage improvements are to be made in the affected areas. To bid, bidders must possess a B-General Building License and be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations. Bids must be submitted electronically before the specified due date using PlanetBids. Each bid must include a Bid Bond or Certified Cashier's Check equal to 10% of the bid. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit are required. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. All bids must conform to the provided forms and be responsive to all contract documents, including instructions. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on the base bid amount only. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularity in received bids. All contractors and subcontractors must pay prevailing wage rates and comply with labor compliance monitoring and enforcement requirements. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
