The project includes the complete retirement of the Wye Yard Tracks, with retired materials either saved for reuse in constructing the Poco Yard expansion or salvaged by the Contractor, and requires that all related rail material be cleared from the site upon completion. Three new tracks are to be constructed west of Highway 9, parallel to the existing Poco Yard, with connections into existing lead tracks. The area between new tracks P-1 and P-2 will be finished for use as a transload area, utilizing materials saved from the Wye Yard for construction of the new storage tracks. A widened track center between new tracks P-1 and P-2 will be finished with a gravel base and surface for use as a transload area. Rail and track materials saved from the Wye Yard retirement will be used to construct the body of the three (3) new Poo Yard storage tracks. The overall project also includes site grading which will be performed under a separate earthwork contract.
