As of April 13, 2026, project was awarded to Burski Excavating, Inc., awarded amount is $1,670,081.60. The Contract provides for the construction of a landfill final cover system over a portion of Phase 9A and 10A and installation of a "rain cover" system over a portion of Phase 10A. Phase 9A and 10A final cover construction includes regrading/smoothing the existing intermediate cover (which includes cutting soil/waste at surface and/or placing fill soil as necessary to create a suitable subgrade for final cover placement), installing a buffer soil layer, LLDPE geomembrane liner, geonet geocomposite, rooting zone/cover soil layer, topsoil, and related items. Installation of the rain cover includes the regrading/smoothing the existing intermediate cover (which includes cutting soil/waste at surface and/or placing fill soil as necessary to create a suitable subgrade for rain cover placement), installation of a reinforced polyethylene rain cover, Wind Defender ballast system, gas vent piping, and other related items. The contract also includes the replacement of an existing stormwater culvert, signage installation, and regrading of existing stormwater channels. Bid Alternate 1 provides for the construction of a demolition landfill final cover system at the Lyon County Demolition Landfill, including intermediate cover grading (which includes excavation of construction and demolition debris waste and cover soils and/or placing additional soil fill as required to achieve minimum/maximum slopes), installing a buffer soil layer, low permeability soil layer, topsoil layer, and related items. The Contractor shall include furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, storage facilities, services, and supplies required to complete the Work as indicated in the Contract Documents.
