Lyon County Landfill Phase 9B-1 Construction Site Directions: Lyon County Sanitary Landfill, 2025 200th Ave, Lynd, MN 56157 The Contract provides for the construction of a new landfill cell, Phase 9B-1, over an old unlined landfill area. Construction of Phase 9B-1 includes stripping and stockpiling topsoil from the old unlined landfill cover, completing earthwork necessary to establish the Phase 9B-1 subgrade, installing a compacted low permeability material (clay) liner, geosynthetic clay liner, geomembrane liner, leachate collection piping system, granular drainage layer (sand), and related items. The Contract also includes the installation of new leachate recirculation manifold manholes, piping connections to the existing gas collection and control system, decommissioning of an existing leachate loadout pad, and dredging an existing sedimentation basin. The Contract also includes three alternative bid items, including a "waste push" upon completion of construction of Phase 9B-1 and certification of the cell by the MPCA to move waste from the existing Phase 9A and/or Phase 10A into the new Phase 9B-1 to establish 6-feet of waste placement in the new cell, fencing replacement and repairs, and installation of a new culvert at an existing sedimentation basin. The Contractor shall include furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, storage facilities, services, and supplies required to complete the Work as indicated in the Contract Documents.
