Site work for a development in Kensington, California. Completed plans call for site work for a development.
The District seeks proposals from experienced, reputable, and qualified Licensed Timber Operators and/or Tree Service Contractors for the large-scale removal of eucalyptus and other trees, and to reduce ladder fuels and accumulated surface fuels on approximately 27 acres in the Tilden Nature Area. The project consists of one task split into 2 units of 11 and 16 acres with similar work requirements. The work must be performed using large felling and biomass-processing equipment, such as feller bunchers, grapple saws, forwarders, log loaders, cranes, and masticators. The contractor must have an experienced crew capable of technical and environmentally sensitive vegetation-management work, meeting project schedules. Specialized felling techniques and equipment, including climbing, rigging, and crane operations, may be needed due to the size and locations of trees. Most biomass will be transported offsite using large forwarding and hauling equipment, and all off-hauled biomass becomes the contractor's property and must be disposed of responsibly by means other than landfill.
