The project involves the Carbondale Park Improvements located at 150 N. Kansas St., Carbondale, Kansas 66414. Work includes site parking, accessible pathways, grading, playground and multi-purpose court improvements, inclusive of associated equipment, power and lighting work. Qualified General Contractors may submit bids as the General Contractor for this work. The contractor and their subcontractors are required to comply with the federal Davis-Bacon Act, Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. Wage rates paid for construction work must be at least equal to the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor. The project is partially funded by the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program managed by the Kansas Department of Commerce. The agreement is subject to the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, and all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States. Bidders must submit sealed envelope bids titled "BID PACKAGE - CARBONDALE PARK IMPROVEMENTS." Bid security forms and deposits meeting the conditions provided in the Bidding Documents are required with the bid. All bidders must comply with applicable state and federal anti-discrimination laws. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in the bidding. For further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bidding Documents. Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) are encouraged to submit bids. All persons awarded contracts must comply with all applicable county, state, and federal provisions on nondiscrimination, labor standards, equal employment opportunity, and affirmative action on public contracts. No oral, telegraphic, or telephonic proposals or modifications will be considered. Bidder Questions: Submit written questions to be addressed at Prebid conference minimum of one business day prior to meeting.
