The City of Oconomowoc is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to perform building demolition, asbestos abatement, and water service installation at 101 E Forest St. Contractors are responsible for handling asbestos in the building per the pre-demolition assessment. The selected demolition contractor must ensure their firm's name is listed on the 10-day notice submitted to the WDNR. Airborne dust must be controlled by misting or water spray during active building demolition. Demolition includes removal of the structure, including concrete steps, slabs, foundation, brick, and all mechanical proposals. Equipment proposals are solicited on the basis of lump sum prices for the abatement of environmental items identified within the inspection report prepared by Ba Fastriert Environmental, or as adjusted based upon site investigations. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, materials, utility, transportation, disposal services, and incidental items necessary to complete the entire project to the City of Oconomowoc's satisfaction. Bids must be accompanied by bid security made payable to the owner in an amount of 5% of the bidder's maximum bid price in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check. Bidders are required to submit a qualification statement with their bid. The bidder awarded a contract for the work must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the full amount of the contract price. Bid security may not be withdrawn for a period of 100 days after the bid deadline and will be forfeited to the City of Oconomowoc if the bidder is awarded the work and fails to execute the agreement and furnish 100% performance and payment bonds. The City of Oconomowoc reserves the right to select any proposal it deems most advantageous and serves the best interest of the city.
