Site work for an industrial development in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for an industrial development.
The remediation work at the site will include grubbing, debris removal, stripping and stockpiling of soil and or sand fill from the ground surface, excavation of approximately 80,000 cubic meters of non-hazardous contaminated soil including some buried debris, treatment and or disposal of approximately 10,000 cubic meters of acidic groundwater, backfilling all excavated areas with clean fill, and revegetation and wetland restoration. Contaminants of concern primarily include metals, sulphate, pH, and PHC. Excavated soils will be transported to an off-site landfill for disposal. The specifications package and supporting documents for the remediation, which is provided as an attachment, provide additional detailed information regarding project scope and required services.
