Scope of Work & Objectives The Contractor will be responsible for providing residential water, sewer, and storm service installations for the City on an as-needed basis. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Installation of Services Installation of residential water, sewer, and storm service lines, including all associated infrastructure necessary to complete the work. This work may involve addressing site-specific challenges such as groundwater management, pole holds, and deep utility crossings. In all cases where a connection to the water main is required, hot tapping is the preferred method. For all water service installations, regardless of whether the main can be isolated, hot tapping method is preferred in order to eliminate service disruptions. This is a decision made between the City and the Successful Proponent on a caseby-case basis. 2. Service Connections & Decommissioning Connection of residential properties to municipal water (including hot tapping), wastewater, and storm systems. Work may include decommissioning or repairing existing service lines, particularly in cases involving property subdivision.
