The purpose of this Bid is to establish a contract for purchase and installation of sheet and tile flooring, cove base, and other work at various locations for the School Board of St. Johns County, Florida. Question submitted Electronically The purpose of this Bid is to establish a contract for the purchase and installation of sheet and tile flooring, cove base, and other work at various locations for the School Board of St. Johns County, Florida SERVICE REQUIREMENTS: A. Perform manufacturer-recommended moisture testing prior to installation. Proceed with installation only after substrates pass testing. Moisture mitigation, if required, shall be performed according to manufacturer's specifications. B. All flooring shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations using only the manufacturer's recommended clean-set adhesive. No adhesive substitutions will be permitted. Flooring shall be installed with tight, uniform joints, free of gaps or visible spacing between tiles. Installation shall be flush to walls leaving manufacturers recommended spacing for expansion. Finished installation shall show no valleys or ridges and shall have no hollows or voids beneath tiles. C. Product references (brand, model, or stock number) are provided only to define the desired product and minimum quality standard. Bidders proposing an alternate or equal product must submit full literature and specifications with their bid. The School Board, at its sole discretion, will determine whether any proposed SHEET FLOORING: A. Marmoleum Composition Sheet (MCS) or equal. See Attachment A for technical data. i. Sheet Flooring shall meet or exceed all technical requirements listed in ASTM F2034 Standard Specification for Linoleum Flooring Type 1. ii. Sheet Flooring is a homogeneous sheet linoleum of primarily natural materials consisting of flaxseed oil, wood flour, limestone, dry pigments, and rosin binders, mixed and calendared onto natural jute backing. Pattern and color shall extend throughout total thickness of material. iii. Physical Characteristics (dimensions are approximate): 1. Gauge: 2. Backing: 3. Width: 4. Length: 5. Sheet Flooring shall meet or exceed all technical requirements listed in ASTM F1303 Standard Specification for Sheet Vinyl Floor Covering with Backing. ii. Sheet Flooring is a heterogeneous sheet flooring non-ortho phthalate, constructed of a backing layer, middle layer, pattern layer, and wear layer. Wear layer must contain urethane aluminum oxide topcoat cured by an ultraviolet process or similar additive to protect from scratches and wear. No-polish maintenance required. iii. The successful Bidder shall provide a five (5)-year warranty on flooring installations and a lifetime warranty on moisture mitigation systems beginning on the date of completion, as determined by an authorized School Board representative. During the warranty period, the successful Bidder must repair and/or replace product without cost to the School Board, with all replacements carrying the same warranty as the original installation.
