Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Carpinteria, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of placement of pavement, curbs, gutters, and retaining walls; installation of trail lighting and fencing; landscaping; and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction of the contemplated improvement, as indicated in the project specifications and plans. The project must be completed within 90 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked as specified. The Pre-Bid Conference is mandatory and relates to federal requirements. Bid security in the form of a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond amounting to five percent (5%) of the Total Bid is required. The bid must remain open for sixty (60) calendar days from the date of bid opening. The bidder shall possess a Class A- General Engineering Contractor license in good standing at the time of contract award. The project requires compliance with federal wage determinations and State of California prevailing wage laws. Bidders must be registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to relevant California codes. All contractors must comply with certified payroll requirements and submit records bi-weekly. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, and make awards to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
