Blum Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk by NC State University and will receive and publicly open sealed proposals from prequalified bidders for the construction of Phase 4B of the University Towers Residence Hall project in Raleigh, NC. This phase includes interior patching and painting of walls and ceilings, as well as sitework renovations to the surface lot and underground storm water piping. Principal trade contractors are solicited for the following bid packages: General Works, Interior Painting, Sitework, and Asphalt Paving & Striping. Additional packages may be added or deleted by the Owner and Construction Manager. All sealed bids must be in a sealed envelope labeled as required in the bid manual, and bids received after the closing time will not be accepted. No facsimile or email submissions are permitted. Bids will only be accepted from prequalified bidders. The Construction Manager and Owner reserve the right to add prequalified bidders and to reject any and all bids. Instructions to bidders specify mailing and handling requirements for sealed bids, timing of bid submissions and openings, and the process for submitting RFIs by the required deadline. The project has a 10% MWBE participation goal; participation of historically underutilized and minority businesses is strongly encouraged, and assistance is available for MWBE subcontractors who need support with bonding or payment terms. Trade Partner Support examples include quick pay, modified insurance limits, bonding access, joint check agreements, disaggregation of bid packages, and break out of materials and equipment to support cash flow.
