Project Background The Parks Commission is soliciting proposals to repair, rehabilitation, and restore the Babe Ruth Baseball Field located in Town Center. The baseball field is located in Town Center behind the Dunstable Fire Station at 28 Pleasant Street. Existing Field Conditions Babe Ruth Field o Infield: Severely overrun with weeds; requires realignment, leveling, and full restoration. o Structures: Backstop, dugout fences, benches, and bleachers are in good condition. Project Scope Babe Ruth Field Improvements This project focuses on preparing the Babe Ruth Field for safe and effective use during the Spring 2026 season. Field Rehabilitation and Safety Enhancements All Clay Skin Areas o Measure and mark all clay to turf Edge all clay borders o Strip all vegetation from the baselines and clay areas o Grade baselines, rebuild pitcher's mound and plate circle o Provide and install all bases, pitcher's mound, base anchors Infield and Foul Line Realignment o Re-establish accurate infield geometry and foul lines. o Replace and install foul poles to clearly define field boundaries. o Two foul poles consisting of round, yellow-coated steel tube poles o Poles installed plumb and set in concrete foundations o Height, diameter, and placement shall meet baseball field standards o Contractor will verify final locations with Owner prior to installation Surface Grading and Rut Repair o Fill in all ruts and uneven areas throughout the field. o Spot seed rutted areas as needed to restore turf integrity. Access Path Cleanup o Clear the path from the rear of Swallow Union School to ensure safe and convenient access.
