Renovation of a municipal facility in Dunstable, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
This project summary is intended to provide a general understanding of the work and is not intended to be all-inclusive. The scope of this project generally includes the partial reconstruction and repair of an existing elevator vent structure on the slate roof of the historic Dunstable Town Hall. The vent structure was originally designed to mimic the appearance of a chimney. The project requires the removal and replacement of all surfaces and sheathing of the vent structure. The roof surface of the vent structure is to be replaced with an EPDM roofing assembly. The sides are to be a thin brick assembly. The installation of new base flashing will require the removal and reinstallation of a limited area of slate roofing. On another section of the slate roof, an abandoned cast-iron drain-and-waste vent pipe requires capping. The building will be occupied and open to the general public during on-site work. All entrances and egress points must be maintained and protected from overhead hazards for the duration of the project.
