Site work for a water / sewer project in New Orleans, Louisiana. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construction of reinforced concrete T-type floodwalls, a structural steel swing gate, and approximately 636 feet of adjacent levee as part of the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Project. Work includes placement, transport, processing, compaction, and testing of clay materials and sand in quantities consistent with levee construction requirements, including work on soft, marshy soils in southeast Louisiana. Embankment operations may require daily placement averages of approximately 2,000 cubic yards of clay material. The contract also includes driving pipe piles greater than 60 feet in length, installing steel sheet-pile cofferdams, and performing dynamic load testing such as PDA testing. Total levee construction quantities include roughly 1,290 tons of sand and 4,445 cubic yards of clay. The acquisition will support development of the WSLP-103A Frenier Floodgates project and is intended to identify capable small business construction sources for future solicitation planning. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
