The work consists of clearing and grubbing, contractor furnished fill, trail and abutment grading, trail bridge abutments, steel piles, installation of three pre-engineered truss bridges, metal railing, storm sewer structures and pipes, signing, revetment, traffic control, erosion control, and restoration. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid security in an amount not less than 5% of the Bid and a fully completed Bidder Status Form. Bids are to be submitted in triplicate, on forms provided in the Project Manual. Upon notification of award, the successful Bidder must furnish contract security in the form of performance and payment bonds. The Owner reserves the right to defer acceptance of any Bid for up to 60 calendar days, to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities or technicalities, and to accept the Bid deemed in the best interest of the Owner. Bidders are required to be qualified for Iowa DOT work, demonstrate authority to do business in the state, provide contractor license numbers (if applicable), and, if requested, submit evidence regarding qualifications and those of subcontractors and suppliers.
