Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Edenton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Scope of Work: 1. Remove and dispose of old boardwalk, pier and pilings 2. Remove and dispose of old platform at boat ramp 3. Install 6ft boardwalk (350lin ft) with: a. new pilings (min. 6x6 2.5 marine grade) b. new substructure (min. 2x8 .60 cca) c. new decking (min. 2x6 .23 mca) 4. Install handrails (660lin ft) with: a. new handrails (min. 2x6 .23 mca) 5. Install platform at the end of the boardwalk over the water (256sq ft) with: a. new pilings (min. 8x8 2.5 marine grade) b. new substructure (min. 2x8 .5 cca) c. new decking (min.2x6 .23 mca) 6. Install new pier at boat ramp with: a. new pilings (min. 8x8 2.5 marine grade) b. new substructure (min. 2x8 .5 cca) c. new decking (min.2x6 .23 mca) 7. Install two handicap parking spaces (275sq ft) and 4ft wide concrete walkway to chimney trail (230 lin ft) with: a. stone base (min. 4" depth 21A stone) (optional/standard) b. concrete (min. 4" depth 3500 psi) c. concrete wheel stop, striping and handicap parking sign 8. Replace pavilion roof with metal (min. 26-gauge). Replace boards that need replacing and replace or scab any 2x4's that need repair. Replace damaged corner posts. 9. Remove trees, grind stumps, and debris beside picnic pavilion and trail head. 10. Galvanized hot dipped nails and galvanized bolts for the project. All work must meet ADA requirements. A copy of the ADA Checklist for Recreation Facilities is attached. Bids should include specifications of materials including but not limited to treated lumber and pilings for boardwalks and piers, concrete and stone for parking spots and walkways, and metal and ridge caps for pavilion roof. Chowan County is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to build, repair, and re-deck the boardwalk and piers, and add two concrete parking spaces and walkways connecting to the boardwalks and platforms at Bennett's Millpond. Contractors must be licensed and bonded, as well as have $1 million liability coverage. Edenton-Chowan Recreation Department has received an Accessible Parks Grant for park improvements with a focus on accessibility and inclusion.
