The work consists of the construction of 0.041 miles of box culvert and approaches on Martin Luther King Drive, known as Local System Bridge Program Project No. LSBP-06(25) in Bolivar County, Mississippi. The major items of work include mobilization, clearing and grubbing, removal of precast bridge, removal of combination curb and gutter, unclassified excavation, borrow excavation (contractor furnished, class 9), structure excavation, temporary stream diversion, placement of crushed stone (sizes #57 and #610), placement of hot mix asphalt, concrete sidewalk construction, placement of reinforced concrete pipe and end sections, structural concrete works (class B and BB), reinforcing steel, branch connections, gratings, right-of-way markers, maintenance of traffic, erosion control such as vegetative materials for mulch, temporary silt fence, wattles, loose riprap, geotextile under riprap, additional construction signs, commercial fertilizer, and seeding. Instructions to bidders include: bids must be sealed and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Bolivar County and the State of Mississippi. Electronic bids must be submitted in PDF format and contain the same information, forms, and bid security as required for paper bids. Any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying the conditions under which the proposal is tendered will be considered irregular and not considered for award. The award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities. The project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.
