Utility build out and painting of Building 200 at Drake State Community College, Huntsville, Alabama. Bids will be received only from previously pre-qualified General Contractors. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Alabama Community College System in an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required at contract signing. Bid documents will be sent to prequalified General Contractors only from the Architect electronically with no deposit. Only General Contractors who have completed the prequalification process and are properly licensed in accordance with the criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors will be considered. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference is required for all General Contractors intending to submit a bid, and is highly recommended for Subcontractors. The project will be bid excluding taxes; the contractor must complete the required State of Alabama accounting forms, and tax exemption certificates will be issued to contractors and subcontractors who are licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive technical errors, or abandon the process if judged to be in their best interest. Pre-qualification requirements: Only General Contractors who have completed the prequalification process within the stated time limits, and who are properly licensed in accordance with the criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, will be considered.
