The work consists of custodial operations and maintenance of the rest area/welcome center located on I-95, southbound lane, mile marker 181, 0.25 miles south of the NC/VA state line in Northampton County. The bidder must provide all necessary machinery, tools, labor, and other means of construction; perform and complete all the work; and furnish all materials, except as otherwise noted, to complete the contract as required by the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, the project special provisions, and the requirements of the Engineer, for the specified unit or lump sum prices. The bidder is responsible for all materials, machinery, implements, appliances, and tools, and must perform all necessary labor to construct and complete the project according to the plans and specifications prepared by the Department of Transportation. Quantities shown are approximate and may be adjusted as deemed necessary or expedient by the Department of Transportation. Any changes in quantity will not warrant changes in unit prices or project completion time except as provided in the contract.
