Ingham County seeks proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to enter into a contract for the purpose of making improvements to Lake Lansing Park North. The general scope of work includes three divisions (A, B, and C) delivering extensive trail improvements and amenities, including crushed limestone paths (with standard, binder, and wetland sections) and boardwalk replacements supported by helical piers. Improvements across the site include interpretive and trail ethics signage, recycled trail markers, benches, bike loops, trash receptacles, an entrance gate, and native landscaping. Division A emphasizes wetland features and site access. Division B provides the largest segment of trail and boardwalk construction. Division C focuses on the connection to the MSU to Lake Lansing Trail and user amenities such as bike loops and signage to support recreation and education throughout the trail system. Refer to the plans and specifications for complete project requirements prepared by the County's Consultant. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Guarantee shall be in the form of a bid bond executed by an approved surety company, made payable to the County of Ingham, and shall run for not less than ninety (90) days. If the successful proposer fails to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) business days after receipt of Notice of Award, such guarantee shall be forfeited to the owner as liquidated damages. Bidders who have not registered their company with Ingham County or have not updated their registration in the past three years are requested to do so. Vendors must certify knowledge of and agreement to comply with the County's Equal Opportunity Employment/Nondiscrimination Policy, and disclose any conclusive findings of violations within the past three years. It is the responsibility of the proposer to examine all proposal documents, investigate site conditions, and ensure the proposal is based on current and adjacent site conditions.
