Renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Des Moines, Iowa. Working plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.
This project includes the repair and restoration of 12 skywalk exterior finishes, installation of new waterproofing systems, replacement of window gasketing and seals, thorough cleaning of all skywalk exteriors on Grand Avenue and the immediately adjacent streets, replacement of existing can lights with new LED lighting, and replacement of all missing aluminum and steel trim. The work must be performed in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 679-247/261, on skywalks located along Grand Avenue and immediate adjacent streets, and other locations directed by the City Engineer. Sealed bids must be filed at the office of the City Clerk, 2nd Floor, T.M. Franklin Cownie City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Each bidder must include bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as specified by the jurisdiction. Copies of contract documents are available from the City Engineer's Office, 4th Floor, T.M. Franklin Cownie City Administration Building. Preference will be given to Iowa products and labor as lawfully required. Bidders should not include sales tax in their bid; a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for all material purchased for incorporation in the project.
