Site work for a water / sewer project in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involves removals, sanitary sewer installation, storm sewer installation, intake replacement, replacement of driveways, sidewalks, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) and Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) pavement, traffic control, erosion control, restoration, seeding, and other miscellaneous work, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 679-262/283, located at 42nd Street and Madison Avenue, and 24th Street and College Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. Bids must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as specified by the jurisdiction. Contract documents will be available from the City Engineer's Office at no cost after February 23, 2026. Preference will be given to products, provisions, and labor from the State of Iowa to the extent lawfully required. Bidders should not include sales tax in the bid; a sales tax exemption certificate will be available for material purchased for the project. The project shall be fully completed not later than October 1, 2026. A public hearing will be held by the City Council on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications and form of contract) on file in the City Engineer's Office, and estimated cost for each improvement at its meeting on April 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor, T.M. Franklin Cownie City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa.
