The improvement includes scarification of existing asphalt streets, furnishing and placing Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA), furnishing and placing pavement markings, traffic control, and other incidental items, all in accordance with the contract documents at specified locations and other locations as directed by the City Engineer in Des Moines, Iowa. Locations include: Shawnee Avenue (11th Street to 7th Street), E 8th Street (Euclid Avenue to Douglas Avenue), E 9th Street (Hull Avenue to Grandview Avenue), E Tiffin Street (E 24th Street to E 25th Street), Morton Avenue (E 9th Street to E 13th Street), E 12th Street (Arthur Avenue to Guthrie Avenue), E Holcomb Avenue (2nd Avenue to Saylor Road), SE 18th Street (Scott Avenue to Maury Street), Hartford Avenue (SE 6th Street to SE 14th Street), Courtland Drive (Fulton Avenue to Davis Avenue), SW 15th Street (Burnham Avenue to Geil Avenue), Forest Drive (28th Street to 29th Street), Ridge Road (28th Street to 29th Street), Lincoln Place Drive (SW 34th Street to 3550 Lincoln Place Drive), Terrace Drive (Lincoln Place Drive to Community Drive), 38th Place (Grand Avenue to Greenwood Drive), Pleasant Street (42nd Street to 41st Street), Kingman Boulevard (EB) (28th Street to 25th Street), Huntland Drive (41st Street to Northwest Drive), and 34th Street (Franklin Avenue to Hickman Road). The project is to be completed in accordance with the Completion Provisions. Each bidder must submit bid security as specified. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent required under Iowa law. Sales tax should not be included in the bid; a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for materials purchased for the project. Copies of contract documents will be available at no cost. The City of Des Moines reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
