project no 120-008-019-01 5%MBE/WBE and 0% VBE/PBE The scope of work provides for a complete rehabilitation of the existing water tower, including structural tank repairs, interior and exterior cleaning and coating, foundation improvements, and component upgrades. Improvements to all ladders, railings, and access points should be included to meet current safety standards. Add Alternate 1 includes one coat of Fluoropolymer alternate aviation orange stripes on the water storage tank exterior. The stripes should extend from the top center of the tank to its supporting standpipe. The stripes should extend from the top center of the tank to its supporting standpipe B. SCHEDULE: The tank can be out of service for a maximum of 100 days. Work hours are 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday GENERAL This Project Summary is an overview of the entire Project and is intended, but is not guaranteed, to place all project specifics in one location to aid Bidders. Tank Information: The structure is a 750,000-gallon spheroid with a low-water level of 101.5 ft. located at 1300 W. Locust St. in Canton, Illinois. The work includes: Exterior - Base Bid: Water dampen abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a four (4) coat zinc epoxy urethane fluoropolymer system. Exterior - Add Alternate 1: Apply one (1) coat of fluoropolymer alternate aviation orange stripes on the water storage tank. The stripes should extend from the top center of the tank to its supporting standpipe. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Apply a polyurethane caulk to the roof lap seams The cathodic protection system is to be removed and reinstalled by a Company that specializes in impressed current cathodic protection installation and repair, coordination and payment is the Contractor's responsibility. Dry Interior: Abrasive blast clean the entire tops of the platforms (including 1 ft. up the riser wall) and spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces. Foundation: Repair grout. Abrasive blast clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Portable Tank The Contractor is to furnish, install, and maintain operations of a portable water tank during the duration of the Project including while draining, during disinfection, refilling, and testing (until the tank can be put back into service). See Appendix 1. Repairs: 1) Replace the damaged grout between the baseplate and the foundation. 2) Replace the access tube manway gasket. 3) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch and on the bolted painter's hatch. 4) Replace the wet interior roof hatch neck. 5) Install handholds at the roof hatches. 6) Install deflector bars on the fill/draw pipe. 7) Replace the sample tap on the fill/draw pipe. 8) Replace the expansion joint on the fill/draw pipe. 9) Install an aluminum jacketing over the fill/draw pipe insulation in the riser. 10) Install a mud valve. 11) Overflow pipe discharge modification and overflow flap gate. 12) Wet interior ladder rung replacement. 13) Replace the roof vent. 14) Install a seal at the access tube air gap. 15) Install a roof handrail with a painter's railing. 16) Weld a rigging lug on the bowl. 17) Repair the damaged cathodic protection system. 18) Repair damaged electrical conduit/junction boxes. 19) Replace the aviation lights. 20) Replace the dry interior light bulbs. 21) Install grounding rods for the structure. 22) Install level sensor with display Bids and bid modifications for this project will only be accepted via the e-Builder Bidding Program or via an alternative file transfer system (if experiencing a technical issue). No faxed or in-person submittals of bids will be allowed. Bids and bid modifications will not be allowed via mail. If not previously used, create an account. - Step 1: Enter bid amounts, including any alternates. - Step 2: Upload required PDF documents including Bid Form, Subcontractor Requirements, PC-2 Form, MBE/WBE/PBE/VBE Program Requirements, Bid Bond, Standard Terms and Conditions, and Certifications and Disclosures. - Step 3: Enter data about your organization, such as IPG Number and contact name. - The vendor is responsible for ensuring all required documentation is attached. Bidders must be prequalified with CDB, and allow 45 days for application processing. MBE/WBE/PBE/VBE firms must be certified or registered with the State of Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion prior to bidding. Contractors must comply with the Prevailing Wage Act. All new and renewing vendors must be an "Active (Accepted)" registrant in the Illinois Procurement Gateway (IPG). Failure to provide completed standard certifications, disclosures, or registration numbers will result in rejection of the bid. Subcontractors not considered incidental with an annual value over $100,000 must also submit required forms within 20 days of contract execution. Subcontractors must receive Authorization to Proceed prior to any work. Progress payments will normally be issued within 30 business days after approval of an Invoice-Voucher.
