This project consists of street repair on various streets in the City of Newton as designated below for the Surface Treatment Project. Sealed bids are invited for the construction of a surface treatment project, specifically the BASE BID of 14,876 square yards of single chip seal. The project location is under the ownership of the City of Newton, Kansas. Bidders must obtain and review the contract documents which are available electronically from the City Engineer's office. Only one electronic copy of the project manual and plans will be provided to each bidder. The owner has the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids. Bids must remain valid for 60 days after the opening date. Construction shall not begin prior to May 27th , 2026. Construction will be substantially completed by August 1 st , 2026 and completed and ready for final payment by August 15th , 2026 Will be substantially completed within 30 Calendar Days for the base bid plus the contracted calendar days for the add alternates after the date when the Contract Time commences to run as provided in paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions and completed and ready for final payment within 67 Calendar Days after the date when the Contract Time commences to run.
