The base bid includes 2,060 tons of asphaltic concrete and 18,944 square yards of asphalt milling. Add alternates include 923 tons of asphaltic concrete and 1,051 square yards of asphalt milling. Bids must be submitted to the office of the City Engineer at 201 E. 6th Street, 3rd Floor, Newton, Kansas. Project documents are available for examination at the City of Newton and can be obtained electronically by request. One electronic copy of the project document, including the project manual and project plans, will be furnished to each bidder upon request. No paper copies will be provided. The Owner reserves the rights waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. 5. BIDDER agrees that the Work: Construction shall not begin prior to May 27th , 2026. Construction will be substantially completed by August 1 st , 2026 and completed and ready for final payment by August 15th , 2026 Will be substantially completed within 30 Calendar Days for the base bid plus the contracted calendar days for the add alternates after the date when the Contract Time commences to run as provided in paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions and completed and ready for final payment within 67 Calendar Days after the date when the Contract Time commences to run. BIDDER accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to liquidated damages in the event of failure to complete the Work on time. 6. The following are attached to and made a condition of this Bid: (a) Required Bid Security in the form of 5% of total agreed bid. (b) A tabulation of Subcontractors, suppliers and other persons and organizations required to be identified in this Bid. (c) Required BIDDER's Qualification Statement with supporting data. 7.
