Remodeling of a recreation facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 11,415-square-foot, one-story above grade recreation facility.

The project consists of interior fit-out alterations of a Recreation Center for the City of Elizabeth, including related construction items as required by the contract documents. The program includes a gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, offices, and ancillary spaces. The existing exterior shell is a single-story facility with a mezzanine for roof access, approximately 11,415 square feet and about 30 feet in height. The project is a single-prime, lump sum, all-inclusive contract, and the successful bidder must comply with all Federal and State requirements specified in the project documentation. Bidders must submit a certified check, cashier check, or surety bond for 10% of the bid amount (not to exceed $20,000), as well as a certificate from a responsible surety company indicating commitment to provide required bonds if awarded. The successful bidder will also be required to provide bonds and insurance certificates, execute the contract within ten days of award, and begin construction within ten days of notice to proceed. Bids must comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including prevailing wage requirements, and are subject to the availability of appropriated municipal funds and CDBG approval. Vendors currently suspended, debarred, or disqualified are excluded from participation. The City reserves the right to waive minor discrepancies and reject any or all bids. The deadline for receipt of questions is March 13, 2026 at 12:00 noon.
