"40 lb" refers to the system's production capacity of about 40 pounds of available chlorine per day. This system is essential for maintaining safe and effective water disinfection within SPU's water distribution system. Historically, SPU has utilized similar systems to generate hypochlorite on-site, ensuring compliance with water treatment regulations while reducing the need for bulk chemical deliveries.
