The work is generally described as asphalt patching, asphalt overlay, and roadway reconstruction on streets or segments of streets within the Town of Oberlin's corporate limits. Separate sealed bids will be received by the Town of Oberlin for the town-wide street improvements. Bids must be submitted to the specified address and received prior to the designated time; any bid received after this will not be considered. Bidders can review the instructions, forms, and contract documents at the specified engineering firm's office. Copies of bidding documents are available upon deposit, with refunds issued under specified conditions. Each bidder must include a bid security of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price, with bonds meeting the required specifications. The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance bond and payment bond equal to 100% of the contract amount. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause. The project adheres to all applicable public bid laws and requirements as stated in the bidding documents will not be waived. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
