Renovation of an educational facility in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Lincoln Park Public Schools requests bids for asbestos abatement and selective interior demolition as part of high school renovations for summer 2026. The work is split into two groups, allowing for up to two separate contractors, or for one contractor to provide a combined bid for both groups with possible discounting. Scope includes removal of 1st level ceiling and flooring systems, including ceiling and flooring demolition in corridors, classrooms, cafeteria rooms, main office, and science wing classrooms, as well as thermal system pipe insulation removal above ceilings and in walls. Project includes abatement of asbestos-containing ceiling and flooring materials, selective interior demolition of millwork and countertops, and all asbestos thermal system pipe insulation. Demolition also addresses non-asbestos ceiling tiles with asbestos-containing glue-pods, steel and metal ceiling support materials, hangers, asbestos floor tile, and asbestos mastic by grinding method, and any remaining asbestos thermal system insulation. Additional abatement in the athletic wing pool office. Some millwork may remain, and contractors are responsible for verifying which cabinets and millwork will be removed to avoid damages. All abatement must be performed in full negative pressure HEPA filtered containment with decontamination units. Work and labor force must meet the completion deadline. Instructions to bidders include: - Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid walk through is required to be eligible to bid. - All bid documents are distributed at the pre-bid walk through only. - Bidders may be considered for either group of work or both, with an option to submit a combined bid for both phases if staffing and scheduling allow. - Contractors must provide a complete list of equipment and workers, with names and accreditation numbers, scheduled for the duration of the project. - Bids must meet prevailing wage requirements and submit certified payroll sheets with invoicing. - Bid security (5%) must be submitted with the bid, and performance plus labor and material bonds (100%) are required from the accepted bidder(s). - Bids must include familial relationship disclosure and Iran Economic Sanctions Act compliance certifications.
