This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Marion, Illinois. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
Update of existing electrical infrastructure at the United States Penitentiary Marion, including replacement of unit substations in Vaults 1 through 5 with new outdoor, pad-mounted substations and extension of primary circuitry from existing vacuum loop switchgear except for Substation 4. All electrical equipment in Vault 4 will be demolished, with new substation equipment incorporating primary switchgear to replace the loop switch functionality. Required existing panelboards from Vault 4 will be replaced in new locations, and existing primary loop fault indicators will be salvaged, reinstalled, and re-wired. Structural repairs will be completed at Vault 4, all openings sealed, and the vault backfilled. The existing transformer and switchboard that feed the "Old Camp" will be demolished and replaced with a new outdoor, pad-mounted substation, with primary cables spliced in the existing transformer structure and extended. Primary circuitry serving the "Training Center" will be re-fed from a new switch incorporated into the substation. Each new unit substation will provide metering at low-voltage main and feeder breakers, integrated with the facility management system via new wiring for data display and recording. Feeder circuits downstream of Substations 1 through 6 will be replaced, and deteriorated or under-rated panelboards will be replaced with new equipment. Flush-mounted panelboard boxes will be extended for new conduit connections, and wiring will be spliced or extended as needed. Panelboards not scheduled for replacement will receive new dedicated equipment ground buses, with re-termination of neutrals and grounds as required. Branch circuitry and wiring devices serving kitchen and laundry equipment in the penitentiary and "Old Camp" areas will be replaced. Selected deteriorated motor starters in the Powerhouse will be replaced with new starters of similar functionality. See the Statement of Work and specifications for full project requirements. Location: United States Penitentiary (USP) Marion, 4500 Prison Rd, Marion, IL 62959. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
