Renovation of a detention facility in Marion, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Removal of an existing 4,800 MBTU summer boiler and installation of a new natural-gas-fired watertube boiler system. Work includes complete disconnection, removal, and disposal of the existing boiler, associated steam piping, feedwater piping, blowdown piping, safety valve vent, electrical connections, and a portion of the existing stack. The contractor shall furnish, deliver, and install a Cleaver Brooks M5-700-7500-150St or equivalent watertube boiler with a 7,500 MBTU input and 6,000 MBTU output capacity, including all required piping, valves, gauges, regulators, safety devices, low-water cutoff, gas train modifications, feedwater connections, electrical reconnections, and stack components. Additional work includes installation of new steam spool pieces, a non-return valve, a 4-inch stop valve, tie-in to the existing steam distribution system, installation and testing of the HAWK actuator system, commissioning, boil-out procedures, operational testing, and verification of all safety and control functions. All work shall be completed without modifying existing walls or doors and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards. Upon completion, the contractor shall provide service manuals, troubleshooting documentation, and operator training to facility staff.
