Renovation of a mixed-use development in Marion, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

This project consists of boiler plant upgrades at a central boiler plant that provides steam for heating and air conditioning, domestic hot water, kitchens, and sterilization services. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and transportation necessary to replace one malfunctioning upper main steam pressure regulator that is critical to hospital operations. The existing regulator failure requires reliance on a backup regulator, making replacement essential to maintain safe and reliable steam utilities. The replacement shall include installation of one 2-1/2 inch, 300-pound class Spence/Armstrong GP2000CS Type E cast steel main valve with associated components, including a D pilot 10-100 green regulator, pilot regulator spring, cast steel bend/FTG kit, flexible connections, gaskets, and ASTM A193 bolts as required by VHA standards. All work shall comply with the 8th Edition VHA Boiler Plant Safety Device Testing Manual, the VHA Cast Iron Survey/Directive, applicable ASTM standards, and accepted industry practices. The contractor shall perform all work in accordance with VHA Directive 1810 and good engineering practice, including required testing and documentation. The work may require a shutdown of the boiler plant and steam system. At least one preliminary site visit is required prior to bidding to evaluate existing pressure reducing valve arrangements, site conditions, and contract requirements. Upon completion, the contractor shall submit a signed and legible testing report detailing work performed, tests conducted, results, and any required follow-up actions. Contractor personnel must comply with VA identification, safety, security, and personal protective equipment requirements. All work shall be performed in a skillful and workmanlike manner, with precautions taken to prevent damage to government property. Any damage caused by contractor activities shall be repaired or replaced at no cost to the government. The estimated period of performance is dependent on production and delivery of required valves and materials. Location: VA Medical Center, 2401 West Main Street, Marion, IL 62959. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
