The work consists of demolition and replacement of plaster and associated finishes of the existing Tamalpais High School swimming pool, along with associated ADA improvements. A. The Work of this Contract for Tamalpais High School - Swimming Pool Replaster and other items not specifically mentioned herein. B. The Tamalpais Union High School District is working on a program to upgrade existing athletic facilities. The Tamalpais High School - Swimming Pool Replaster project includes the demolition and reconstruction of the existing swimming pool plaster and tile finish, repair of existing finishes and pool deck, replacement of equipment, and minor improvements to existing facilities including fencing, gates, walls, and signage. C. The work includes but is not limited to all work as shown by these drawings and specifications. D. The Work shall include all the work as shown and specified except work indicated "N.I.C." or "Not in Contract" or "Future." Bidders are required to possess a State of California C-53 Swimming Pool contractor's license, remain in good standing, and be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations. Bids must be submitted on the District-provided form, accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, may substitute securities for retained monies, and must comply with Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation requirements. All workers must be paid at least the prevailing wage rates. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on the base bid amount only. The Board may reject any or all bids or waive irregularities.
