The City of Lakeland is seeking a qualified and experienced State of Florida-registered Contractor to provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for retrofitting an existing dry retention area that currently includes an underdrain system. The scope of work includes removing the existing underdrains, installing biosorption activated media (BAM) under the pond bottom in a downflow configuration, and performing additional activities such as modifying drainage structures, removing concrete ditch pavement, sodding, underdrain and impermeable liner installation, specialty valve installation, and related ancillary tasks. All work must conform to Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Construction (January 2025) and the project's Contract Plans, Technical Specifications, Special Provisions, and applicable addenda. The retrofit aims to enhance nutrient reduction in stormwater discharge to benefit impaired surface water bodies with approved nutrient reduction plans.
