The project consists of identifying approximately 450 water service lines by exposing and documenting the material type at each curb stop. This can be accomplished with traditional excavation or, preferably, hydro excavation to minimize disturbance. Once both sides of the curb stop are exposed, contractors must photograph and record the service line materials to comply with EPA and state mandate requirements. The project also includes replacing curb boxes and valve stems damaged during excavation. After inspection, service lines are to be backfilled with the same material if suitable under City standards, or with sand for hydro excavation. Contractors are responsible for restoring all disturbed areas, including loaming and seeding lawns and repairing driveways and sidewalks with matching materials. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity. The successful bidder will be required to furnish necessary bonds and insurance certificates. All work is dependent upon bid amounts and available funding, with actual quantities based on field measurements during construction.
