The scope includes, but is not limited to, new wall layout and new finishes to create a secure vestibule and new exterior ramps for accessibility. Instructions to bidders: - Bids must be submitted using the forms prepared by the Architect, sealed, and clearly marked for the project. - Bids may be submitted in person, by mail, or by delivery service prior to the deadline. No facsimile or electronic submissions are accepted. - Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in one of these categories: (C008) General Construction or (C009) General Construction/Alterations/Additions. - Bidders must also be prequalified for, or include documentation for prequalified subcontractors for: (C029) Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron, (C030) Plumbing, (C032) HVACR, (C047) Electrical. - Bids must be accompanied by all required documentation, including the DPMC Certificate of Prequalification/Classification, Affidavit as to Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts, a Statement of Ownership, Public Works Contractor Registration, Business Registration Certificate, and affidavit regarding debarment status. - Bid security of 10% of the bid amount (not to exceed $20,000) in the form of a bid bond or certified/cashier's check, and a Certificate of Consent of Surety are required. - No modifications to the Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, or Specifications will be permitted prior to bid acceptance except by addenda. - The Board of Education reserves the right to reject non-responsive bids, or all bids, and to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions. - No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the opening date. - The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as defined by law. - The successful bidder will be required to furnish additional bonds as specified. - Compliance with all applicable laws and reporting is required.
