Sealed proposals from contractors will be received for the Wendell Middle School Track Replacement Project. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to participate. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The project consists of the following major items for the track removal and replacement: 1. Demolition/removal the existing track, fencing, and gates. 2. Demolition of existing field event areas such as concrete high-jump, long jump, shot put and pole vault. 3. Demolition of select concrete areas. 4. Relocation of existing shed and site furnishings. 5. Minor earth grading and site improvements. 6. Installation of new track, chain link fencing, gates, field events, new concrete sidewalks, and electrical work. 7. Installation of fencing, concrete walks, existing bleachers, Bermuda sod. 8. Sod installation. Bidding Documents include this Invitation to Bid, and the following attached forms: Form of Proposal, sample contract, Sales Tax Report, MBE forms, Board of Education Policies. The bidding documents also include the plans and specifications, and any Addenda issued prior to receipt of bids. All requirements and obligations of the Bidding Documents are hereby incorporated by reference into the Contract Documents and are binding on the Successful Bidder upon award of the contract. Each Bidder by submitting his Bid represents that he has read and understands that Bidding Documents and his Bid is made in accordance therewith; and Bidder agrees to be bound by the terms and requirements set forth in the Bidding and Contract Documents; that he has visited the site, has familiarized himself with the local conditions under which the Work is to be performed herein, and has correlated his observations with the requirements of the proposed Contract Documents. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System. Also, the Wake County Public School System reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129.
