The Successful Proponent is to complete comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic assessments of Fourteen Mile and McCraney Creeks and update flood hazard modelling and mapping in accordance with current guidelines, standards, and best practices. This includes compiling and reviewing relevant background data, assessing existing stormwater management facilities, preparing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, documenting and reporting study methodology and findings, creating map sheets delineating the watersheds’ flood plain and spill flood hazards, supporting communication with key stakeholders, and participating in public engagement. All final reports and flood hazard map sheets are to be signed and sealed by a professional engineer licensed by Professional Engineers Ontario. Modelling and mapping will include delineation of riverine flood plain hazards and spill flood hazards. Spills that could be unsafe for development because of flooding will be modelled and mapped from their source to their ultimate receiver. The deliverables will be used by Conservation Halton’s Planning and Regulations program staff for decision making when development activities are contemplated in the mapped flood hazard. The deliverables may also be used by other municipal authorities to support prioritizing and planning for flood mitigation works and/or infrastructure renewal, flood forecasting and warning, emergency planning and response, and community planning. All work must be completed by December 1, 2027, and billed by December 15, 2027. There is no possibility of extending the project timeline.
