Site work for an educational facility in Hopkins Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
Sealed bids will be received for site improvements at Lorenzo R. Smith Elementary School, Hopkins, Illinois. Bids are solicited from general contractors for track paving, concrete, and fencing work. Proposals must be submitted on provided forms and be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check made payable to School District 259 in the amount of not less than five percent of the total proposal. The successful bidder will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract. The contractor and any subcontractors must pay prevailing wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act. Sufficient insurance against claims for damages during construction is required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or bids. Access to documents is provided through the Architect's office, and the Architect may refuse to issue documents to unqualified parties. It is anticipated that School District 259 will consider these bids at the School Board Meeting in April 2026 for either award or rejection.
