The project is for District Playground Equipment and Surfacing at multiple school locations within the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District. The work will be performed under a single lump sum contract, and segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. The work may begin immediately following execution of the agreement and is scheduled to be completed in one phase as shown in the contract documents. Bids must be addressed to Dallas Center Grimes Community School District and may be mailed or hand delivered to the designated administrative offices. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required at the time of bid, in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond. The successful bidder must provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the contract sum. Bidders must submit a completed Bidder's Status Form at the time of bid. Nonresident bidders must comply with Iowa Code Section 73A.21, subsection 4. Preference shall be given to resident bidders according to Chapter 73A, Code of Iowa, and bidders must provide a statement regarding resident status as designated. The award of the contract may be made to any responsible bidder offering suitable supplies, equipment, and/or service at the lowest price, taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law.
