Site work for a water / sewer project in Bear, Delaware. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes the removal of approximately 426 linear feet of existing concrete channel, installation of proposed 426 linear feet of concrete swale, restoration, and erosion and sediment control as described in the specifications and on the drawings. The work is located at 232 Benjamin Boulevard, Caravel Farms Subdivision, Pencader Hundred, Bear, Delaware. Bids shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond, certified or cashier's check in an amount equal to 10% of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County, and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price. Contractors proposing to submit a bid to New Castle County for a Public Works contract expected to exceed $500,000.00 are required to complete and submit a signed original Contractor Responsibility Certification (CRC) form no later than the advertised deadline for bid submittals. There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting for prime bidders. New Castle County will only accept bids from contractors prequalified with the County in the category A, Site Work. All contractors are required to implement a mandatory alcohol & drug testing program for their employees and submit an affidavit with the bid certifying compliance. The contract will be awarded pursuant to New Castle County's Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, requiring compliance with SBE participation goals or demonstration of good faith effort. Payment of prevailing wages as determined by the State of Delaware Department of Labor is required. All contractors must be registered with the Department of Labor and have Delaware Workers' Compensation Insurance where required.
