The project consists of the installation of drywall at Nielsen Elementary, with an approximate quantity of 576 square feet using 5/8" Type X Gypsum Board to match facility standards. Fastening is to be done with screws per California Building Code, with nails prohibited. The work also includes taping and bedding joints to a Level 4 Finish so that surfaces are smooth and free of tool marks, and applying texture to approximately 3,920 square feet. Bidders must submit sealed bids or submit electronically through the District's online portal. Bids must be made on the District's form and conform to all contract documents. Contractors must possess a B General or C-9 Drywall California State license at the time of bid. There is a mandatory bidders’ conference at Nielsen Elementary to familiarize contractors with the bid documents and work site. All workers must be paid not less than the prevailing wage rates as determined by the State of California. Bidders and their subcontractors must comply with registration and qualification requirements under California Labor Code. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the total bid price must accompany the bid, and the successful bidder will be required to provide a one hundred percent performance bond and payment bond. The District may reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and will return bid securities of unsuccessful bidders within sixty days of award. Bids are binding for ninety days after opening.
