The Town of Weston, Massachusetts invites sealed bids for the Memorial Pool Pump Replacement Project. The scope of work involves the installation associated with replacing the pump for the Memorial Pool. Bidders must submit a bid security of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to provide a labor and materials payment bond amounting to fifty percent (50%) of the contract amount. Selection will be based on qualifications, past performance in similar projects, and bid price, with the contract awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after opening. The Town reserves the right to waive informalities, accept or reject any or all bids, or take any action deemed in its best interest. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development apply to this project under Massachusetts General Laws. Technical questions regarding this bid should be directed in writing to bidding@blwengineers.com. All technical inquiries must be received no later than Wednesday, March 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM and responses to all inquiries will be issued to all vendors of record no later than March 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The work to be done under this contract consists of the following: 1. The Town of Weston shall purchase the Pool Pump Equipment and Mechanical Contractor shall install. 2. Mechanical Contractor shall coordinate with the Pump Manufacturer'srepresentative and the Town of Weston representative. 3. The successful Contractor must supply all labor necessary to satisfy the requirements of this bid except as otherwise provided by specific notations in the technical specifications or on the drawings, necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans. 4. Contractor and any sub-contractors shall visit the site prior to commencement of work to coordinate work with the Town of Weston. 5. Pool pump replacement: a. Two 50 HP pumps will be provided by the Town of Weston. b. This contract will include installation of each of those pumps and all associated controls and electrical power as detailed in the contract documents. c. Included with the install will be all work associated with pipe reconfiguration and replaced fittings and added filters. d. The pumps will be delivered to the area of installation by the Owner. e. Warranty, testing and final closeout. 6. Contractor shall final clean each work area upon completion and acceptance to the standards and specifications of the Owner. 7. All work shall be installed in strict conformance with all applicable code requirements and manufacturer's written installation instructions. 8. The General Contractor shall furnish and do everything, except as otherwise provided by specific notations herein or on the drawings, necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans and Project Manual. He shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, supplies, tools, water, machinery, implements, light, power, transportation, and other facilities required, and do all work necessary for the complete execution and completion of the Contract, except that work or materials specifically stated to be done or furnished by others. 9. All work and materials furnished and installed shall be of the best quality and workmanship, and to the satisfaction of the Engineer. There shall be no defect in the work or the operation thereof due to inferior materials or the workman like placing of any part. The work under this contract shall be performed at such times as may be necessary to facilitate the orderly progress of the work. It is the intention of these Specifications and Plans to cover all work necessary and incidental to the completion of this project, including all trades, as shown on the drawings or specified. 10. Contractor shall do all necessary cutting and patching of structural and finish work as necessary to provide the finished results shown on the Contract Drawings and as herein specified.
